Taishin is a technique that aims to avoid an attack and advance towards the uchidachi at the same moment his sword misses its target, regardless of direction.
Uchidachi:
tombo – kirisage – tombo
Shidachi:
muniken – katate-mawashiuchi – muniken
Shidachi starts in the muniken no kurai with the kodachi in his right hand, while uchidachi is standing in tombo no kurai. Shidachi walks forward and meets uchidachi on the way. As shidachi approaches uchidachi, he experiences an aggressive attitude from him and he stops in the muniken no kurai.
When uchidachi cuts kirisage, shidachi steps with his left and right legs diagonally to the left, legs well together and with his right heel raised. At the same time, shidachi performs katate-mawashiuchi and steps diagonally towards uchidachi.
Shidachi then steps back to the starting position in the muniken no kurai. Uchidachi quickly steps back three steps and resumes tombo no kurai.
